Here's an overdue blog post on my outing to KL for the Asia Pacific Students Leadership Workshop. I went on behalf on NUS (and ENS because NUS wanted to send someone who is knowledgeable in economics..haha...so ENS was being approached to nominate someone and that was how I went to KL to experience the "Malaysia, Truly Asia" experience.)

It was an extremely enriching trip. There was great interaction among participants and many precious friendships were forged over the 6-days event. Here are some photos to showcase what I have experienced in KL. I hope that someone from the next committee will also have the opportunity to represent ENS abroad =)

L to R: Regina, Amanda and yours truly

From the Publication's side! We had two stalls - one selling car accessories and the other selling apparels.

Sad to say, our apparel stalls did not manage to sell much. As such, we were too upset to take as many pictures as the other stalls which enjoyed soaring sales. Here is the only picture we took. Must have been right after someone purchased something! Haha.

Hey everyone! The National Economics and Fund Management Quiz (NEFMQ) committee has made some progress in our preparation for this year's NEFMQ! :)

Anyway, for those who are unclear on what NEFMQ is, it is a prestigious annual inter-junior college Economics competition consisting of a Preliminary round and a Final round. The Preliminary round will be held on 17th July 2006 (Wednesday). Each junior college will send 50-55 students to take part in the Preliminary round which consists of 20 multiple choice questions, 10 calculation questions and 10 fund management questions from our distinguished sponsor, GIC (Government of Singapore Investment Corporation).

The four top performing junior colleges will send four student representatives each to take part in the Finals, which will be held on 22 July 2006 (Saturday), University Cultural Centre (UCC). Be prepared for a few hours of excitement as you see the four schools battle it out during the Speed, Buzzer and Presentation rounds for the much coveted championship!

We are honoured to have Mr Chan Soo Sen, Minister of State for Education, as our Guest-of-Honour for the Finals.

All the junior colleges have expressed interest in participating in this competition. Yay!!!

The NEFMQ committee has come out with questions for the NEFMQ Preliminary round. It is currently being vetted by our helpful and brainy seniors, Kwee Lim and Eddie, after which the questions will be sent to professors from the Economics department for further vetting.

Hopefully, we can upload photos of us doing work in future! It's a pity we didn't hire a cameraman to take pictures of us hard at work (which, sadly, are not at all scandalous in nature)... anyone interested to be our photographer? Watch out this place for further NEFMQ updates! Meanwhile, take care :)

About ENS

The National University of Singapore Economics Society (ENS) is a club formed primarily for Economics students at NUS, but we more than welcome other like-minded individuals who may not be studying Economics but are interested in it. ENS aims to be a platform to allow Economics students to bond together, and is a brilliant way to get to know seniors who will be excellent advisors for academic queries or doubts. In ENS, we not only want to make new friends, but also work together in academic and non-academic areas as well.
